The Brief
Auckland Transport required a premium, high-specification portable facility for the Pukekohe Train Station precinct. The building needed to serve as a functional operational hub while reflecting the cultural significance of the location and meeting the aesthetic standards expected of a public-facing transport facility. Standard off-the-shelf solutions were not an option, this project demanded a bespoke approach from concept through to installation.
The Castle Collab Solution
Castle Collab designed and delivered a fully custom portable building that pushes the boundaries of what modular construction can achieve. The facility features striking exterior cladding integrated with locally significant cultural artwork, creating a building that belongs in its environment rather than simply occupying space.
The engineered timber pergola structure extends the usable space outdoors, providing covered breakout areas with integrated seating, complete with timber decking that creates a seamless transition between interior and exterior environments. Every detail was considered: from the Gallagher electronic security access system ensuring controlled entry, to the high-specification LED lighting throughout the interior designed for energy efficiency and occupant comfort.

Delivery & Installation
The complete facility was manufactured at Castle Collab’s Auckland yard, transported to site, and installed with minimal disruption to station operations. The pergola structure, decking, and outdoor furniture were assembled on-site by our installation team within the agreed programme. From initial consultation to final handover, the project was delivered on specification and on schedule.
